2006 Trust Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon:
The warm growing days of the Horse Heaven Hills (Phinney Hills and Champoux Vineyards) and the Columbia Basin (Bacchus) provide the bulk of Cabernet for this bottle. A little Walla Walla off the "rocks" (Kelley) provides some mid-palate lushness and the whole blend is softened with 20% Merlot from the very cool Conner Lee Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope. Lush dark berries, plum, and minerality race through this well integrated wine.

Winemaker Erich Bradley had no classical training when he began as
an assistant to Richard Arrowood in 1999-2002 where Audelssa wines were
then being made. Winemaker Bradley thought that Audelssa wines would
benefit from a more artisanal approach, one that actually followed a
more Burgundian tradition. “It was an unorthodox concept,” said
Bradley, “making Bordeaux and Rhone varieties in that style, but I felt
it would create the most graceful and seductive expressions of this
very special place.” In 2002, the Schaefers hired Bradley to be their
winemaker so he could realize his vision. Winemaker Bradley also worked
under winemaker David Ramey of Ramey cellars in 2004-2005 when Ramey
was consulting for Audelssa. Since then, Audelssa has bottled a
Bordeaux style blend named Summit which has scored 90 points with
Robert Parker for three consecutive vintages, as have three vintages of
the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. More recently the Rhone style wines
have cracked the 90 point barrier with the 2005 Syrah (Maelstrom)
scoring 93 points and the 2005 Zephyr scoring 91 points.
In 2004 Bradley also started a Pinot Noir project called Sojourn, which is also based out of Sonoma. These wines are all rated in the 90's by Pinot Report and WS.
